I'm watching your progress quitly for a few weeks now, and I must say: I'm very impressed   I have just a little question: did you make the klevants and nagels by yourself or are those ready-made?

I hope Alex doesn't mind my answering but YES, EVERYTHING he does is scratch built. By the way, with problem of language I think Alex means "belaying pins" for klevants, & the double headed pins I am not sure about. I think they are used as "stopper pins" in clewing up the sails.

Yes,Keith is right - klevants and nigels made by me.
Regarding translation klevants and nigels to English. I can't fined translation in my dictionary. But these words (termins) not Russian. I think klevant and nigel, like practically all marine termins came to us from middleaged Holland language.
是的，Keith是正确的 - klevants和nigels是我制作的。
关于把klevants和nigels翻译成英语。我无法在我的词典中找到译文。但这些单词（术语）不是俄语。我想“klevant”和“nigel”一样，几乎所有我们看到的海洋术语来自中年的荷兰语言。

Nice work, simple technique but good and thanks for sharing  
Your handcraft is really awesome. I made such parts for myself and know how difficult it is to get all the parts in the same shape.
I'm planning to scratchbuild the 'Friesland' in scale 1/50 and you have allready give me lots of ideas to think about.

(And btw: belaying pins is the right word. In Dutch it's called 'korvijn-nagels')

I like your serving machine Alex. It looks as if it will last a thousand years  Built tough! Mine is hand operated, although I am thinking of adding a 6 volt motor.

In reality I use small turning lathe (photoes below) keeping long thin round pece of wood in fingers of left hand and woking by small file by right hand.

Yes, it's big difference in rigging a xebec. And not easy that seems from first time. But I have an experience - galley La Real.

Full length photos give excellent "feel" to the ship.
Are those foremast bands spirally wound or are they put on at an angle?

The foremast bands spirally wound. I used forged brass wire.
