昨天去http://modelshipworld.com/phpBB2 ... xebec++requin+keith问了一下正在做鲨鱼的Keith关于模型尺寸的问题,供大家参考。Keith是一个相当好的modeler,
我的问题:
dear keith:
may i ask you some questions?
how long is the model in meter length from the sculpture dragon head to crocodile (maybe a lizard)?
and, there is a man holding a pole on each drawing,what is the meaning of the pole , meter,inch,feet or yard?
Keith的回复:
The length of the ship at 1:48 scale is 1.073 metres (46 1/4").
The boy holding the pole represents, probably the way the ships were measured heightwise ( I am only guessing here). Similar to the surveyor's measuring stick used today in calculating slopes & angles.
I measured the length of the stick, then multiplied by 48 & it came to 4 metres long. Don't forget that in 1750 France was using French feet units, with 27.1 mm equal to 1" imperial. |
